WHY SUPPORT
THE UMFF?
Media images represents the highest and most immediately recognizable commodity in the world. Media's implied messages form the worldviews of millions.
Founded in November 2001, the mission of the Urban Mediamakers is to promote and support a diverse independent media arts community in the Southeast and worldwide. Our annual signature event is the Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF), showcasing independent films from around the world.
Why UMFF? Because we are changing the world, one story at a time!

ABOUT US
What is the purpose of your mediamaking? Is it just to entertain? Or is it to tell stories that impact audiences positively? What is your intent?
Our intent in filmmaking is to change the world, one story at a time. The Urban Mediamakers Association is a not-for-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) consortium of aspiring and professional individuals in animation, film, gaming, music, new media, print, and television. We recognize media as a powerful weapon of choice for making positive change. Our mission is to empower media entrepreneurs through the association, and educate/train the next generation of mediamakers through the Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs).
