We Are Looking for Exceptional Content Creators

We are looking for exceptional storytellers and digital content creators. UMFF is a competitive film and digital media festival with awards and prizes for the best work.

All genres are eligible for competition in UMFF 2016 and include advertising and marketing campaigns, animations, commercials, trailers, documentaries, features, key art designs, mobile, music videos, scripts, shorts, stage plays, student projects (middle school, high school and college), television pilots/series and web series.

UMFF 2016 winners of each category will receive awards, as well as cable and OTT airing of their projects on the Urban Mediamakers' Indie Cinema Show and UrbanFlixToGo movie streaming service launching in 2016. Through a Withoutabox partnership, UMFF is IMDb qualifying, granting all eligible competition films a no-hassle title page on IMDb.com.

UMFF gives 'Best Of' domestic and international awards to winning content creators. The short film category is divided in to subcategories that include the best: Shorty-Short, Comedy, Narrative, Socially-Conscious and Sci-Fi. The UMFF 2016 Founder's Choice award is given to a project chosen from all categories. Judged by a jury of industry professionals, UMFF 2016 winning selections will be announced at the awards presentation.

Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) Videopalooza 2016 - Middle and High School Students Video Competition

The Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) are aspiring creatives ages 11-17 with an interest in acting, animation, art, drawing, film, gaming, music, new media, print, television, video and web. Annually the YUMs presents Videopalooza, a short film competition for middle and high school students. Videopalooza lifts the voices of youth as they use visual communication to express how they feel about those things that are important to them.

The 5th Young Urban Mediamakers Videopalooza Competition 2016 call for entries is now open. Submit your youth-produced PSA or film project today. Winning films will screen during the 15th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF), October 6-11, 2016 in metro-Atlanta, Georgia. .

UMFF Short Script-To-Screen Contest 2016 | Deadline August 15th
  • Submit your original short script to the 15th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF). The winning script will receive a production deal from the UMFF to bring the script to screen. As a producing partner on the film, UMFF will provide a professional production team, additional fundraising assistance, editing, social media and internet presence, festival submission and distribution.
